A digital zoom is garbage as all it does is stretch the pic. An optical zoom is the way to go. Also I have found good results by using spot metering and have the camera at about a 45% angle from the fish. That way you won't get flash reflection off the glass on into your pic. The other way I get good results is to wait til it is dark in the house (or very little lighting) and turn off your tank lights. Once again use spot metering and flash reflection is not near as bad as if the lights in the tank was on and a lot of the time I didin't get any flash reflection at all. So try with the tank lights out.

I have a 75g tank that houses the following fish:
1 Red Oscar 1 Koi Angel 1 Clown Loach 1 Siver Dollar 1 African Knife 1 Sailfin Pleco 2 Common Plecos 1 Heckeli 1 Featherfin Cat 1 Lace Cat
Tank is heated with an AC 300 watt heater and is filtered by 2 AC 110's (sometimes called AC 500's)

Hey thier, I have been a cichlid hobbiest for 8yrs now I have 3 tanks 1-72gal, 2-150gal tanks. I have all kinds of africans, one of my 150gal tanks have 4 large fronts the other 150 has 23 diff peacocks in it and the 72gal is a Tropheus tank. I'm looking to get into salt tanks in the near future.... that is if I can talk my wife into letting me add another tank, because I will not get rid of the three I have now.
